I'm back from my one-week vacation at NUS hostel and RI. Full address: Prince George Park Residences, Blk 21, Floor 2 [notice - 21/2], Room F.
The place is very nice, and the room is cosy and facilitates sleeping. However we could seriously do better with larger bathing cubicles. But all in all, very memorable. My cluster was one big enthusiastic bunch - partied almost every night lol. And my group was not bad too, maybe a little on the quiet side but that's ok cause that's like me.
Day 1. Check-in, don't know anyone yet - besides Zong Guo, Pei En etc. from RV - so nothing very exciting. Oh yes, the food was still platable. Slept at: 0100hrs.
Day 2. Ice-breaking was effective. And the Singapore City tour was great - went to Sentosa to watch Songs by the Sea; they used lasers to create images in the air. Impressive. And there was dinner by the sea! Slept at: 0000hrs.
Day 3. Opening ceremony ... and then leadership workshop and dinner and FPSW I. Lots of people say it's too structure and not creative. I was already wanting to sleep by then after all those activities. Slept at: 0100hrs.
Day 4. Talent Development Talk by Professor Francoys (without the French letters). And FPSW II and the campfire!! Very interesting. The RI Scouts 02 organized it. Their campfire somehow clashed with Youth Summit, so the theme was about youth. And youth is not an age, it's a decision. About this scientist who discovers joy and youth through an 8-year old boy via a time machine. And the songs are SO NICE. There's Low by Florida and other songs that I cannot seem to find on the net cause they went by so quickly I hardly got a hold of them. Yew Loong was beside me and our group sang through it. Haha. The facils were especially high. Slept at: 0130hrs.
Day 5. I should have chosen the Champs workshop. SO interesting, according to Amanda. Everyone cried when it ended. And last day le, so we partied with my cluster + a few other. 'Guys-only' party. There's pizza, Pringles, stale salad and bottled fizzies. And a security guard who chased us off the bball court when we were partying. No matter; we went up to the pantry ;). Slept at: 0230hrs.
Day 6. Home.
Very huainianly. The pantry the room the RI the canteen the groundfloor the bball court all very vivid in my mind. Now still.
